Texas Commission on the Arts Young Masters Program
Dear Colleagues,
Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) would like your help in identifying exceptionally talented Texas youth (8th-11th grade students) for our Young Masters grant program. Many of you work directly with youth and/or teachers of students of this age bracket. Please make them aware of this program. Students of all artistic disciplines apply for this competitive grant program. The most talented young artists will receive the title of Young Master and will be given grants of up to $2,500 per year for two years to further their advanced studies in their chosen arts disciplines.
We have a flyer available on the Young Masters webpage http://tinyurl.com/youngmaster. Just click on the Promote link on the top navigation.
Applications for the Young Masters program may be obtained on the TCA website by visiting http://tinyurl.com/youngmaster or the Young Masters section under Grants Information on http://www.arts.state.tx.us. All applications and support documents must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011.
Past Young Masters have used the grant to attend summer programs at Juilliard, Interlochen, Alvin Ailey, Joffrey School of Ballet, LINES Contemporary Dance, Sewanee Young Writers' Conference, Digital Media Academy, California State Summer School for the Arts, Tanglewood, Perlman Music Program, Aspen Music Festival, California Broadway Theater Project, School of the Arts Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design, and Maryland Institute College of Art among others.
